?I?m fearless and determined. If you believe in yourself, if you believe in God, and you really work hard at it, things can happen.? ? Timothy Bradley during HBO’s Portrait of a Fighter
.
Any fight involving superstar Manny Pacquiao is going to be a huge event, but the reality remains that the Filipino hero?s next opponent, Timothy Bradley, isn?t nearly as known in all circles. Bradley vies for Pacquiao?s WBO welterweight crown on June 9th in Las Vegas and win, lose, or draw, he will be a much better known commodity when the action has wrapped up.
Recently, HBO gave viewers a pre-fight look at the Palm Springs, California fighter with a thirteen-minute Portrait of a Fighter segment.
In the clip, we learn about Bradley?s upbringing in life, his relationship with his father, how he first got into boxing, and his mental makeup heading into the biggest fight of his life.
What is for sure is that Bradley has ultimate belief in himself heading into his duel with one of the sport?s best prizefighters.
?I take chances. That?s what makes me different, my heart,? Bradley would say.
