Pasig City, Philippines – Three-time World Champion, and current WBO flyweight king Brian “The Hawaiian Punch” Viloria (30-3-0, 17 KOs) tipped the scales this morning at a solid 112 for his second title defense against longtime nemesis Omar Nino Romero (31-4-2, 13 KOs) in their third meeting that has taken more than five years to make.
In the main undercard, former World Champion Rodel Mayol weighed in at 114 for his super flyweight bout against former Viloria foe Julio Cesar “Pingu” Miranda, who also tipped in at 114.
“I’m ready to rock & roll, I’m ready to get this job done. I’m ready to get this win,” Viloria told me moments after weighing in. “I feel great. I just ate. I feel like I’m at 145 right now,” he added with a hearty laugh.
Mayol echoed the same sentiments. “Malakas ang pakiramdam ko dito sa 114, at matagal na rin naman akong handa, mula pa nung laban ko dapat kay Tyson Marquez (I feel strong at 114 and I’ve been ready for quite some time snow since I was schedule to fight Tyson Marquez),” Mayol told me.
