DESPITE the negative reactions from the political opponents of Mayor Evelio Leonardia when he acted as belt hoister of Boxing champion Manny Pacquiao, the mayor is in it again as he is due to play the same role in the boxing champ’s upcoming rematch with Mexican champion Erik Morales on November 18.
Pacquiao reiterated that he personally invited Leonardia to hoist his championship belt during his fight with Mexican boxer Oscar Larios last July 2.
“I requested Mayor Bing to hold my belt, pampabuenas lang (for good luck). I will request him again to hoist my belt on my fight with Morales,” said Pacquiao.
Pacquiao said he is ready for his training next month to prepare for his next fight against Morales in November.
He added that he is doing a favor for Morales on the latter’s wish for a rematch with Pacquiao.
“Morales wanted to retire in his boxing career, but he still wanted a rematch, I am just doing him a favor” said Pacquiao.
He added that he might have a fight with another Mexican Boxer Marco Antonio Barerra after his fight with Morales.
Further, he thanked the people of Bacolod Tuesday for the support during his fight with Larios.
Moreover, Pacquiao said he will share his knowledge in Boxing to Boxing enthusiasts in Bacolod City.
He added that he will advise the youth how to be successful in their sports-related endeavor particularly in Boxing.
