Exclusive photos: A closer look at Mayweather?s thrilling victory over Cotto

Floyd Mayweather Jr. had to dig down deep last night at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada as he held off a courageous challenge from Puerto Rico?s Miguel Cotto. After twelve rounds of intense, back and forth action, Mayweather escaped with a unanimous decision, the WBA junior middleweight title, and a newfound respect for having gone through such a grueling battle.

It was classic stuff from both guys and while you must admire Cotto?s grit and determination, Mayweather proved to be the superior fighter come night?s end. Scores of 118-110 and 117-111 twice told the tale of two world-class prizefighters in the twilight of their career who found a way to produce a gem that won?t soon be forgotten.
