In a bold display of confidence, Manny Pacquiao vowed to knock out International Boxing Federation (IBF) and World Boxing Association (WBA) featherweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez of Mexico in the third round of their double title fight at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas on May 8 before leaving Manila on a Philippine Airlines flight last night.
Pacquiao was in high spirits when he boarded the plane with US promoter Murad Muhammad. He brushed off talk that Marquez is a dangerous opponent because of his hunger for recognition and said, “kung gutom siya, bubusugin ko ng suntok.”
Pacquiao confessed he?s not as anxious about fighting Marquez as he was in facing Marco Antonio Barrera in San Antonio last November.
