AMERICAN promoter Murad Muhammad yesterday revealed they have already lined up two marquee fights which has a goal of making Filipino boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao one of the greatest boxers of all time.
In yesterday?s lively SCOOP sa Kamayan session which had the animated Muhammad as one of two main guests along with world bowling champion CJ Suarez, the promoter said he recently signed a deal with counterpart Bob Arum that will initially pit Pacquiao versus featherweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez on May 9, then face next Mexican idol Erik “El Terrible” Morales on August 1.
Muhammad also disclosed that they were able to convince Arum to have Pacquiao fight Marquez first before the Filipino camp accedes to the challenge of Morales.
“That was one of my conditions during the negotiations, there was no need to fight Morales if we don?t get to fight Marquez” bared Muhammad.
