MANNY Pacquiao has nothing more to prove when he enters the ring on June 9 against undefeated American Timothy Bradley for the WBO welterweight crown at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.
With what he has accomplished, coach Freddie Roach said Pacquiao does not need to prove himself as he stakes his 15 fight winning streak as he eyes for his 55th win that goes with 38 knock outs in his career.
?With his accomplishments, I don?t think Manny has to prove himself as a fighter,? said the American Hall of Fame trainer.
Entering the second week of training, Pacquiao had an early morning jog at the Sta. Lucia subdivision running at least three kilometers then had his regular afternoon work-out in the mitts with Roach at a boxing gym along Naguillan road.
And training will have to resume without conditioning coach Alex Ariza who left for the US last Saturday to attend to Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.?s training as he prepares for Andy Lee in their WBC middleweight clash on June 6 at El Paso, Texas.
But it will be training as usual for the lawmaker from Sarangani as sparring will be commencing anytime next week with the arrival of his sparring partner Rusian Provodnikov, a 28-year-old junior-welterweight prospect.
Roach said Provodnikov is an ideal sparring partner for Pacquiao having a similar fighting style against Bradley whom the Filipino icon will be staking his 147-pound diadem.
Provodnikov, who stands similar to Pacquiao with a height of 5?6?, can provide the Filipino enough pointers on how to box with a fighter his size.
And Roach this time will see to it there will be a knock out for his prized fighter.
?Definitely there?s going to be a knock out,? added Roach.
Pacquiao took time off Sunday, for his appointments and was earlier visited by former mixed martial artist and actor Quinton ?Rampage? Jackson who made the long trip up to Baguio just for an opportunity to have lunch with boxing icon.
Jackson tweeted Sunday, ?I met the coolest fighter yesterday, I had 2 take a chopper in the mountains, I must be a big fan but I drove back 6 hours.?
