GIANT Philippine network ABS-CBN hopes to ride the crest of its highly successful partnership with MP Promotions in staging the Manny Pacquiao-Oscar Larios Mano-A-Mano showdown last July 2 by getting the television rights to the third encounter between the Pacman and legendary Mexican Erik “El Terrible” Morales this November.
ABS-CBN vice president for sports Peter Musngi told Viva Sports/Standard Today that the network was keen on acquiring the Philippine rights for the blockbuster fight. “Definitely, we are hoping we will be chosen partners here and hopefully we can at least get some areas around the world such as the Middle East for The Filipino Channel,” which reaches large communities of migrant workers.
Musngi said it wasn’t far-fetched to consider “inviting Morales here and to guest him in one of our telenovelas because he is good-looking.”
