Controversy in Pacquiao’s camp? Imagine that

Just like there’s no such thing as Santa Claus, there’s no such thing as a Manny Pacquiao camp going forward void of controversy. The latest scuttlebutt is that strength and conditioning coach Alex Ariza exited training camp early without first informing the powers that be.

I seriously doubt that Ariza just woke up one morning in The Philippines and said, ”Screw it, I’m heading to America to train with my guy Chavez Jr.” I highly doubt that he would wait for the last second to inform Roach and Pacquiao. If in fact that is the case, he probably wouldn’t get fired for it anyway.

Ariza is the guy who slapped Michael Koncz in the face. Remember that one? I do. Ariza also pulls no punches and calls things how he sees things. He’s blasted Bob Arum on several occasions. There’s no love lost between Koncz and Arum either. Things got even worse when Arum recently called Ariza, ” very unprofessional” in response to Ariza’s early departure from camp.

Pacquiao is currently in training in preparation for his showdown Vs Tim Bradley. If Ariza just out of nowhere packed his bags and split, that would be very odd. If it’s true that Ariza left so suddenly, then perhaps he was asked to do. This is in fact speculation, but maybe Ariza finally pissed off Arum enough to make a phone call to the PI.

If there’s one thing that I learned about the training camps of Manny Pacquiao, there’s always some sort of controversy, and somebody is always lying to somebody. The other thing that I learned is that no matter how much controversy is involved, Pacquiao is usually ready when fight night arrives.
