The Love vs Hate relationship will never stop between Oscar’s Goldenboy Promotions vs Bob Arum Toprank Promotional company. We all witnessed a bad decision this Saturday in the Brandon Rios vs Richard Abril match. Most observers felt that Richard Abril did enough to win the fight and that Brandon Rios looked terrible due to his weight drain. Among those that was watching the fight was Oscar De La Hoya. A promoter will always look at another promoter’s fight to see what is going on and what’s happening so they can stay abreast.
What most didn’t expect was what Oscar tweeted Sunday. “Good night/buenas noches just for your information I can’t wait till top ranks ship sinks because I am sick and tired of these bad calls.” Oscar had no problem dropping his two cents in on what most people thought was a robbery. Apparently Oscar felt the same way. He then went on to say, “GBB will prevail and continue to chip away so we can have boxing back to it’s glory days.” We are not sure if any promoter can do that, but it would be nice.
In the past Bob Arum usually get’s the upper hand when dealing with other promoters. Amazingly the other promoters are firing back at the Godfather Bob Arum. They don’t fear him at all. You must be careful though, because if what you are saying is true, then you own fighters will not stand a chance if they fight Bob’s fighters. Any close fight, and Oscar you guys just might come up short. Bob Arum has heard it so much, that he’s to the point it rolls right off his shoulders. There’s more money to make whether the public get’s duped or not. It’s the American way, which is Bob’s way.
