Dream Fight Very Unlikely ?Roach

may end up being just like that. All talk.

Despite the frenzied clamor to pit Manny Pacquiao against Floyd Mayweather, trainer Freddie Roach is starting to lose hope about the prospects of seeing the dream fight become a reality.

?The world wants to see it. Will it happen? I don?t know,? said Roach when asked as he was preparing to work with British puncher Amir Khan along Jupiter Street in Makati City.

Khan is in town to continue his preparation to regain his world title against Lamont Peterson on May 19 in Las Vegas.

Roach arrived in the country on Wednesday morning to set up Pacquiao?s training camp in Baguio City on April 16.

Efforts have been made to make Pacquiao and Mayweather come to terms and the two even spoke with each other on the phone although nothing came out of it.

Roach said a 50-50 revenue sharing ?is more than fair? as Mayweather has made it clear that he wants the lion?s share.

Pacquiao is nearing the end of his storied career and Roach said that not fighting Mayweather doesn?t necessarily mean the end of the world for the Filipino star as there are attractive options out there.

Roach said the winner of the Andre Berto vs. Victor Ortiz match will appeal to fight fans but wasn?t so pumped up when the name of Juan Manuel Marquez was mentioned.

Although Pacquiao and Marquez have waged three memorable duels since 2004, Roach said a fourth fight won?t have that magical charm because ?they know each other very well.?

?Everytime they?ll fight, it?ll be close,? noted Roach, stressing that there won?t be a closure to their legendary rivalry.

The problem is, Hall of Fame promoter Bob Arum has this matchup in mind for November.

But knowing Roach, he will not leave any stone unturned in guaranteeing that Pacquiao is armed to the teeth come fight night.
