Lightweight Prospect Mercito Gesta will be taking on Oscar Cuero on April 14 at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. This fight will be on the undercard of the Brandon Rios vs Richard Abril. Alot of fans were kinda let down that it wasn’t Mercito Gesta facing Brandon Rios. Promoters often do this when they want to match up two potential fighters. They put them both on National TV for exposure so the household begins to know the names of the fighters.
It seems like Toprank is going to make this matchup next if they both get past their respectable opponents. One thing that has grabbed the attention of the media and fans is that Gesta is fighting in an 8 round fight. This is not good if you expect your fighter to go 12 rounds with the champion next. His wind needs to be built up to that point where he won’t get tired. We know Brandon Rios can go the distance.
