When I spoke to trainer Robert Garcia earlier this week, he seemed upbeat the challenge of resurrecting the career of former middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik.
Last night in San Antonio, Texas, Garcia led Pavlik into battled against Florida?s Aaron Jaco inside of Illusions Theater. As expected, the result was a rousing success as Pavlik overpowered Jaco on his way to a 2nd round TKO victory.
Likely to push forward with his career as a super middleweight from this point forward, there are some interesting scenarios that lie ahead for Pavlik. But for now he can take solace in knowing that he has completed the first phase of his comeback under Garcia.
