On May 19th, former champion Amir Khan will have a shot at redemption when he faces off with IBF/WBA junior welterweight titlist Lamont Peterson inside of the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Peterson scored a rousing upset over Khan this past December in his hometown of Washington, D.C. in a terrific, back and forth duel that saw both men dig down deep. Peterson passed up on a tempting clash with three-division champion Juan Manuel Marquez in favor of a second tussle with Khan and both men again will have much to prove when the first bell sounds.
The past week has seen Khan spotted overseas in the Philippines, as he is working with strength and conditioning coach Alex Ariza ahead of the fight. Khan?s trainer Freddie Roach will be joining him in a matter of days, as the British stalwart will be training alongside his friend and stable mate Manny Pacquiao, who himself is eyeing a June 9th defense of his WBO welterweight crown against Timothy Bradley.
