The undefeated AJ Banal will get his toughest test when he headlines the SGG Sports Promotions’ “Sandugo Boxing” at the Island City Mall car park in Tagbilaran City on July 22.
Fresh off a four-round demolition of veteran Jun Pader last July 3, during the city’s 40th Charter Day Anniversary, Banal will face Indonesia’s super-flyweight champion Ali Rochmad.
The card was originally scheduled to feature the WBO Asia-Pacific super-featherweight title defense of Czar Amonsot against another Indonesian, but the fight was canned due to an injury on Amonsot’s hand.
Amonsot was injured during his fight against Silverio Ortiz in the undercard of the Manny Pacquiao-Oscar Larios.
Rochmad, a dangerous veteran fighter, has a ring record of 34-4-1 and is currently ranked No.8 by the OPBF.
