Like him or not Alex Ariza is at the top for a reason

One of the things that I like about Alex Ariza is the fact that he sugar coats nothing. Ariza shoots from the hip, and personally speaking I would rather know where I stand with a person rather than have that person smile at me then stab me when I turn my back.

Ariza has a history of pissing off certain people in this business because he doesn’t bite his lip, he shoots from the hip. I remember a few years ago when he made news after the word got out that he slapped Michael Koncz across the face. More recently Ariza blasted Pacquiao promoter Bob Arum. The guy tells it like it is, and frankly, I admire him for it.

This sport is filled with crooked snakes that smile in your face, then strike you with venom when you turn your back. Look, I am not saying that Alex Ariza is perfect, because he clearly isn’t, but I think that the guy gets a lot of BS hate just because of where he sits in this boxing world.

Ariza works with some of the greatest fighters alive. He works side by side with the greatest trainer alive, Freddie Roach. He is in demand amongst professional fighters and it’s for a reason. The guy knows what he’s doing and he’s one of the very best at his craft. You may not like the guy personally, but don’t hate because he’s being successful. Advertisement

One of my favorite sayings that I live by is, ”Success breeds hate.” It’s a very true saying and in Ariza’s case it certainly applies. Ariza may not be perfect, and he’s made his share of mistakes, but he keeps it real. He is successful in this sport and some people are hating on simply for that.

Working with Manny Pacquiao and Freddie Roach for as long as he has says a little something. Sure Ariza sometimes will stray from the boundaries of what most conditioning coaches normally say and do, but he’s his own person.

I have seen him do and say some things in the past that made me scratch my head but again, he is his own person, and he shouldn’t be hated on just because of where he is in the sport of boxing. Ariza works with the best professional fighters in the world, and he works side by side with the best boxing trainer in the world. He’s there for a reason.
