MANILA, Philippines — Actor Derek Ramsay bumped into American boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. at a hotel lobby in Los Angeles.
“At first he wasn’t accommodating, but when he found out we were Filipino and that I knew Manny Pacquiao, then suddenly he was very accommodating,” Ramsay said of his meeting with the undefeated boxer.
“So, yeah I took a picture,” Ramsay admitted. “I’m also a fan of his work. He has accomplished a lot as well, but I’m still a Manny fan and I think Manny will beat him of ever the big fight happens.”
Ramsay flew to Los Angeles on Thursday night.
The actor and Miss Philippines 2010 Venus Raj were special guest judges at the Miss Galaxy 2012 beauty pageant, a competition among transgendered men.
Ramsay said he gave up a chance to watch the Los Angeles Lakers play against the Boston Celtics with Raj and her manager Jonas Gaffud as they had to visit the staff and clients at the US clinic of celebrity doctor Vicki Belo.
Ramsay’s said his Los Angeles visit was short as he had to return to Manila on Sunday night for the premier of his latest movie “Corazon: Ang Unang Aswang,” which opens in Philippine theaters on March 14.
“I’ve always said that this project, ‘Corazon: Ang Unang Aswang’ is my favorite movie. It’s like my baby. We worked on this two years ago and we just finished it off about three, four weeks ago. Finally it’s coming out on the 14th so I’m looking forward to seeing the movie, watching the whole film, and hopefully it does well.”
