BOXING legend Marco Antonio Berrera captivated his audience at the Lancaster Suite in Dunston on a flying visit organised by Newcastle promoter Steve Wraith and playersinc at the beginning of a countrywide tour.
A man who traded punches with legends like his bitter Mexican rival Erik Morales, Manny Pacquiao and Prince Naseem Hamed, was asked if he could fight one of his old opponents again who would it be.
?Amir Khan,? he said without a moment?s hesitation referring to their controversial fight in 2009 which he lost on a bad cut in the fifth round.
?The cut was opened in the very first round and was so bad the fight ought to have been stopped right there and then and declared a no contest,? insisted Barrera.
?Khan was fast but I didn?t have an opportunity to find out how good or bad he was. I would have liked that opportunity.?
There was no doubting how good Barrera was in his pomp.
