Manny Pacquiao will knock out Erik Morales for the second time when the Mexican fights the Filipino star at 130-lbs., the Mexican agent of Oscar Larios said Sunday.
At the post-fight conference of the Mano-a-Mano Philippines vs. Mexico event, Rafael Mendoza said that Morales will have difficulty making the 130 lbs. limit and it may spell the difference when he battles Pacquiao on Nov. 19 in Las Vegas.
“Morales will never make that weight (130 lbs.). If Morales makes the 130-lbs. limit, he will still get knocked out by Pacquiao,” Mendoza said, after the Filipino icon scored a unanimous decision win over Larios at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
Pacquiao proved too classy for Larios in the second half of the fight but went through some anxious moments early, especially during the third round when he was sent to the ropes by his Mexican foe with a barrage of combinations.
Pacquiao maintained that he is fighting Morales at 130-lbs., despite attempts by Morales’ camp to bring the fight at a catch-up weight of 132-lbs. Shelly Finkel, Pacquiao’s business manager, said Morales’ promoter Bob Arum may be using a specialized diet for the Mexican so he could make the preferred weight for the height without his performance getting affected.
Morales drew first blood when he outboxed Pacquiao in March 2005, before Pacquiao dealt him the first and only knockout of his storied career in their second match in January. *CPT
