Promoter Murad Muhammad who is arriving in Manila Wednesday morning says he wishes to stage a second edition of the famous ‘Thrilla in Manila’ “not with Ali but with Manny Pacquiao” and indicated he is “hoping that Jorge “Nene” Araneta can help Pacquiao?s business manager Rod Nazario and I make this a reality.”
Murad?s spokesman Ricardo Salazar said the promoter is “working diligently trying to convince HBO that maybe in two to three fights HBO will see Murad?s and Nazario?s way and showcase Pacquiao live from the Philippines” pointing out that “in that time Manny is going to be huge and what better place to fight than in his homeland in front of all his fans.”
Murad said that Nazario has “always had a desire to bring a major event featuring Pacquiao to the Philippines.” Murad said he “respects Nazario?s vision of a future Pacquiao fight in the Philippines and feels obligated to satisfy his wish.”
