Floyd Mayweather is truely not backing down from Miguel Cotto when they meet on May 5th. The Boxing Commission rules are if you are fighting at 154lbs and up then you must wear 10oz gloves. Anything 147lbs and below you wear 8oz gloves. Of course the smaller the gloves the more you feel the punches, the more you can cut your opponent if you punch just right. Mayweather is trying his best to get smaller gloves for their bout.

Hopefully we?ll get it. If not, we?ll go with the tens. We want eights. We want blood, sweat and tears.? It seems like Miguel Cotto is in agreement with this request. I think Floyd Mayweather wants a knockout just like Manny Pacquiao got the knockout. Technically speaking though, Manny received a TKO. We believe Floyd has KO on his mind. No getting up when he get’s dropped.
Floyd Mayweather fought most of his career wearing 8oz gloves. The only time he had to put on 10oz gloves is when he fought Oscar De La Hoya. Even though they are only weigh 2 ounces more, it weighs down on you over 12 rounds. Mayweather likes to call them heavyweight gloves because they can get heavy. We are not sure whether the Boxing Commission can allow this or not. We will soon find out.
