Promoter Murad Muhammad, on his way to the Philippines will arrive on Wednesday to join an HBO crew that will shoot footage of superstar Manny Pacquiao and his fans. Although the site for the Filipino champion?s next fight is yet to be determined, the date and opponent are set with IBF/WBA Featherweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez looking at Manny Pacquiao directly across the ring on May 8.
The footage of the filming this week will be shown during the HBO telecast. An announcement regarding the site of this anticipated showdown will be made this week, but Las Vegas is the leading candidate to land the fight, with San Francisco?s large Asian community vying to land the fight as well.
Muhammad is ecstatic about the HBO filming, so the fans in the U.S can see how popular Pacquiao is in his native country, a sharp contrast to the reaction when he visited New York City in February, where few barely noticed his presence. Muhammad wants to prove that in two fights they will recognize Pacquiao in the U.S as much as they do in the Philippines.
