Last night, inside of the MGM Grand?s Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, several stars from the worlds of sport, film, and music flocked to attend the ?Power of Love Gala? in honor of former heavyweight champion Muhammad Ali?s 70th birthday.
It was said to be quite the epic scene, as such boxing luminaries as Thomas ?The Hitman? Hearns, George Foreman, Leon Spinks, Sugar Ray Leonard, and Manny Pacquiao made cameo appearances while Oscar nominee Sameul L. Jackson, Academy Award winner Sir Anthony Hopkins, international soccer star David Beckham and rapper Common were also spotted.
As the evening went on, live music was provided by Lenny Kravitz, Snoop Dogg, John Legend, Slash from Guns N? Roses fame, and LL Cool J. Stevie Wonder was also joined on stage by former Destiny?s Child songstress Kelly Rowland, as the duo performed their own rendition of the late Whitney Houston?s ?The Greatest Love of All?.
Ali?s bash was in conjunction with the annual Power of Love Gala, a charity benefit for Keep Memory Alive, which supports an effort towards finding cures for neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer?s disease, multiple sclerosis, and Parkinson?s disease, which Ali has been battling since 1984.
