Moments ago in Munich, Germany, WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko overcame a spirited effort from British challenger Dereck Chisora, ultimately winning a wide unanimous decision. The scores of 119-111, and 118-110 twice seemed to be a bit too wide, however, as Klitschko had several problems with his onrushing foe.
The fight saw Klitschko have success from the outside, tagging Chisora with several right hands throughout, but the smaller man had much success in playing the role of the bully.
With his win Klitschko, now 40 years old, moves his record to 44-2 with 40 knockouts and is obviously showing some signs of age at this advanced point in his career. Chisora sees his ledger fall to 15-3 with 9 knockouts but the 28-year old can hold his head high and is a welcome player in the distraught heavyweight scene.
