Manny Pacquiao gave Sugar Shane Mosley a pretty good beating May 7, 2011 over 12 rounds by winning a unanimous decision. He even dropped his durable opponent in the 3rd round. Soon after that, Shane got on the bicycle and made it almost impossible for Pacquiao to hit him again. Shane even went as far as saying Pacquiao had “weird” power. To this day, we still have no ideal what that means. Manny Pacquiao was not able to Stop him all the way. This is a feat that Saul Alvarez would like to do, be the first one to stop Sugar Shane.
Mosley is feeling disrespected by Goldenboy Promotions and everyone else that is not giving him a chance to beat Saul Alvarez to become the 154lb WBC Light Middleweight Champion. Can you blame them? After getting beat by Floyd Mayweather, then a draw against Sergio Mora, and then another lopsided decision to Manny Pacquiao. Shane is 40yrs old now and pretty much his speed and surely his “stamina” is all but gone. Sugar has been labeled as a 5 round fighter now. Of course he still has his power but once the 5th round kicks in, that pretty much is out the door then.
So Saul Alvarez must be smart in fighting the crafty veteran. Wear him down with body shots the first 3-4 rounds and Mosley is a sitting duck. Saul Alvarez could possible be the first one to stop the crafty veteran. This would increase his stock to setup a mega match against either Floyd Mayweather or Manny Pacquiao. The only condition is he would most likely want it at 154lbs. Tune in May 5th to a heavy stacked card that should be nothing short of spectacular.
