American matchmaker and fight agent Sean “Mister X” Gibbons found himself in the middle of a ring riot Friday night in Buenos Aires when Filipino Joel Casimero stopped local boxer Luis Lazarte in the 10th round of an IBF light flyweight title bout. Gibbons, who works for several promoters and is based in Las Vegas, was quite enthusiastic about his trip to Argentina and was proudly showing his own “Pinoy pride” by wearing Philippine flag apparel on the long flight from the U.S. to the metropolis in Latin America. “This was some crazy mofo bullbleep,” Gibbons texted after the out of control riot which concluded with new world champ Casimero hiding underneath the ring as sore losers physically attacked his team and threw bottles and other missiles at the vistors. “I got sucker punched a few times,” ex-pro boxer Gibbons reported to me. “I also got kicked in the head. “Our new champ was hit with a chair and then kicked while he was down. These people were just savages!” Certainly, the IBF must conduct a full investigation and punish severely any wrongdoers. One miscreant who should be easy to identify is a wild man in a green jacket or shirt who attacked the Pinoy fighter and his cornermen. The video should be all the evidence the IBF requires to appropriately punish all the criminals involved in this sickening caper.
