According to a recent report by BoxingScene.com, it appears that WBC junior middleweight champion Saul ?Canelo? Alvarez and former five-time champion ?Sugar? Shane Mosley have agreed in principle to a May 5th bout. While nothing is official, sources close to the situation state that ?both sides have agreed to the terms?.
Oscar De La Hoya, president of Golden Boy Promotions, would later take to his personal Twitter account and reaffirm the news.
The Alvarez-Mosley bout, if it comes off, would serve as the co-feature bout to the already-announced super fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and WBA junior middleweight champion Miguel Cotto, set to take place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Alvarez is one of the more promising young titlists in the sport and the 21-year old will be favored heavily over the 40-year old Mosley, who is 0-2-1 in his last three bouts since his January 2009 drubbing of Antonio Margarito.
