Either make the darn fight or shut the heck up. Fans are sick and tired of being jerked around by both of these boxing camps. One week it’s the Mayweather camp blowing smoke and the following week it’s the Pacquiao camp blowing smoke.
The fans don’t deserve these people lying to them and insulting their intelligence. This back and forth, his fault, no HIS fault garbage has gone on long enough. Either make the fight or shut up and lets all move on.
I spoke with ESPN’s Joe Tessitore some months back and asked him if he thought the big fight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao would ever happen. Joe seems to have hit the nail right on the head with his take on it, ”I think the fight will happen, but the fans will get a watered down version of the fight. By the time they do fight, both guys will be old and past their primes.” It sure seems like that may be a possibility.
It’s come to the point where I personally don’t believe a single thing that either side has to say about this fight. Whenever you have two sides pointing the finger at each other, you get three sides to the story. You get Mayweather’s side, you get Pacquiao’s side, and then you get the truth. Greed is the cancer that is slowly but surely killing this fight.
Boxing gets better as soon as both of these guys retire. Pacquiao, an 8 division world champion has represented the sport well. He’s given a lot of exciting fights, and nobody can question his toughness and his work ethic.
Floyd has a very hard work ethic as well and he’s an undefeated champion. With that said, the sooner these two guys move on and leave the sport, the sooner the fans and the sport can move on.
Hopefully we can see the best fight the best in boxing’s future. It sure isn’t happening right now.
