Amateur Boxing Referees, Judges and Technical Officials Association of the Philippines (ABREJAP) conducts a 2-day seminar with accreditation to those who wanted to become referees and judges in the city, provincial, regional and national level at the Dumaguete City High School library. This is also to keep ring officials abreast with the changing and updated technical and competition rules of AIBA, the international governing body of amateur boxing.
The well-attended seminar was being conducted by international referees Darcito Teodoro, Jesus San Esteban and Dante de Castro. Only accredited members of ABREJAP can officiate in Amateur Boxing Association of the Philippines (ABAP) sanctioned and approved events.
It was also known that representatives of AIBA will be coming over to conduct accreditation and upgrading of ring officials in the international level in time of the National Championships in Tagbilaran City this coming March. Robinson's Place Dumaguete City hosted the PLDT-ABAP Visayas Championships from January 26 to 29. This is the second major amateur boxing tournament in 2 months being hosted by the city government after the successful 2011 Batang Pinoy Visayas qualifiers last November.
