What makes Nonito Donaire any different than Manny Pacquiao? We have been trying to figure it out. We know why Manny Pacquiao is sticking with Bob Arum because his contract won’t allow him to get out of it. Nonito Donaire on the other hand was really close to leaving Godfather Bob and they even got into a little spat. Obviously Bob Arum was upset with Donaire for wanting to leave and he took shots at Nonito and even went as far as saying some disrespectful things about his wife that most people would have punched Bob in his mouth for.
Nonito has been around in the USA for along time. He knows the ins and outs of Americans. If you get a chance to talk with Nonito Donaire he is very very smart. He’s one of the most funniest guys you would want to be around and he can brighten up your day with his smile. Sometimes it’s saddening to see him back with Bob Arum. We still to this day do not know what kind of offer that was made but just the fact that a man can disrespect my wife, then we will never do business together. Goldenboy Promotions could do just as good as Toprank.
We must just believe that Nonito Donaire did what was best for his family. There’s a saying that All Glitter ain’t Gold. We hope that he has made the right choice by resigning with Toprank. Manny Pacquiao on the other hand just doesn’t have the right guys in his corner besides Freddie Roach. Freddie really does want what is best for Pacquiao but he knows he can only say so much because he is only a trainer. For those that don’t understand, a trainer does not have a long term contract. A trainer is on a fight by fight basis. Arum and Koncz on the other hand have Manny locked in and more than likely for life. We hope that Manny Pacquiao and Nonito Donaire accomplish all that they set out to do but most fans feel that could do better than Toprank. The choice is not ours but theirs and we must respect their wishes. Both are great champions and we look forward to seeing exciting fights from them in the future.
