Once again, the Mayweather Jr. vs. Pacquiao rollercoaster makes yet another wild turn, with reports that Manny Pacquiao had personally spoken with Floyd Mayweather Jr. on the phone, in hopes of making their fight a reality, ?I said just give me a 50-50 split in revenue and there would be no problem, anytime. It?s up to you. We?ll wait for your answer,? said Pacquiao during his interview.
Of course this is just the opposite of what Bob Arum keeps feeding to the public, saying that Pacquiao had already chosen and committed to another fight, likely being a rematch against Miguel Cotto. Apparently, this is not the case, as most of us assumed to be true due to Arum?s inexistent credibility.
I believe that them talking on the phone directly to each other, if at all true, is a colossal step forward, and should result in something more solid for the fans. I am fairly confident that Floyd will accept the 50/50 split request, and the fight might very well push through.
Keep your fingers crossed and ears open, as some very exciting news might hit the web sometimes real soon.

Pacquiao vs. Mayweather Jr. is going down on Cinco De Mayo, wait a minute, No they are not. Floyd must go to jail, wait a minute, Floyd is no longer going to jail until June 1st. So then that must mean that the fight is going to happen then right? NO, it?s not likely to happen because Floyd wants to fight on Cinco De Mayo at the MGM Grand a 18,000 seat arena and Pacquiao wants to fight in late May in a outdoor stadium that sits anywhere from 35,000-45,000 people. Oh so then it?s their ego?s that are stopping this fight from happening, well Yes ego is a huge roadblock, but I believe that it is Bob Arum?s gigantic ego and pride that is keeping us all hostage. Why throw everything away over ego? And at what time do we as hostages say enough is enough and make an attempt to kick the gun away from the gunmen? If you want someone to blame, point towards Arum, but really, I say they are all to blame. 2 years ago when Pacquiao was beating his foes to death was the perfect time for this Godzilla event to take place. Floyd Joy had just broken down Shane Mosley by overcoming a massive scare in that second round, so right then was the time that this clash should have happened. I also have always felt that Floyd Joy has one of the very best boxing eyes in history, the man is a shark. When Floyd sees a vulnerable fighter ready to be taken, that is when Floyd becomes extremely vocal. I knew this would happen the second that Floyd saw Juan Manuel Marquez put mad hands on Pacquiao. Floyd now really wants Pacquiao, and Arum the puppet master is controlling the every single action of the Pacquiao puppet. Arum who has been outsmarted by De La Hoya and Mayweather before, when both men bolted out of Arum?s stable, refuses to share his pie with De La Hoya and Mayweather. Arum would much rather take Pacquiao and ground him in house, thus forcing Mayweather to take a much less appealing fight. Don?t get me wrong, I mean Floyd Joy is still going to get his money with or without Pacquiao. But Arum?s angle is to have Floyd check in to jail on June 1st with at least 40-50 million less than Money May would have made had the Pacquiao fight been made. Pacquiao as well will not be seeing all that money either if the Mayweather fight is not made, well, so what. Arum realizes that he has complete control over Pacquiao so Arum will force Pacquiao to keep the fights inside and feed Pacquiao Top Rank fighters. Bottom line, To Arum, The amount of money that Floyd doesn?t make, is far more important than the amount of money that Pacquiao was or is to make.
