Pacquiao, thus, disregarded the advice of members of his team and well-meaning journalist-friends, who cautioned him against the ill-effects of long hours and late nights at the pool table.
Late Wednesday after receiving the coveted Ring Magazine championship belt in a Malaca?ang ceremony graced by President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, Pacquiao was seen playing pool at the Coronado Lanes along Pasay Road, where some weeks ago he reportedly lost as much as P3 million in one week.
Among those who beat him were ladies champion Iris Ranola and a roster of pool hall hustlers.
Well-known pool patron Aristeo ?Putch? Puyat told Manila Standard he had instructed Efren ?Bata? Reyes, Francisco ?Django? Bustamante and all his leading players not to play Pacquiao for money.
