LIVING up to their reputation as the world’s no. 1 texters, Filipinos can now use the power of Text Entertainment Games or E-Games to support ring icon Manny Pacquiao in his forthcoming battle with Mexican boxer Oscar Larios, who arrived yesterday from Japan, where he underwent an intense training regimen.
The boxing event on July 2 will give chance to millions of Filipinos with mobile phones to put their bet on Pacquiao, a heavy favorite to win the boxing match.
Text E-Games, in partnership with ABS-CBN, has launched Mano Milyonaryo, a texting E-Game that is tapping millions of mobile users in the country.
New registrants of Text E-Games are entitled to P20 worth of free load which can be used within the day of registration.
To increase chances of winning, players should buy E-Games prepaid cards sold at the SM Mega Cellular Load Central and all customer service centers of Robinsons Malls.
Each text costs P10, with P1.5 million awaiting the lucky texters. From the correct entries, 14 players will be randomly chosen to move on to the raffle draw. All players with correct entries will be informed through a text message.
For Smart (Gold, Buddy, Addict Mobile and Talk N Text), texters must type REG AGE and send to 8008. Sun Cellular users can send the same info to 2888.
Subscribers will receive a confirmation where they would be asked for their E-Games card number.
To load, type TOPUP and send to 8008 for Smart, or to 2888 for Sun subscribers.
To guess fight result, type MANO P to vote for Pacquiao, L for Larios and D for draw. For Smart users, send to 7168 and 2946 for Sun subscribers
The more E-Games card players purchased, the more chances of winning millions worth of prizes.
Players are required to text their age to REG AGE because game rules prohibit minors and those below 21 years of age from joining.
Entries can be received starting 12 midnight of June 26 until 6 p.m. of July 1. Raffle draw will be held on July 7 at the Casino Filipino office in Para?aque, supervised by representatives from Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. and ABS-CBN.
Winners will be notified by Smart and Sun through text.
The project seeks to enable Filipinos both here and abroad to show their support for Pacquiao through text e-games. There are now at least 10 million Filipinos working abroad.
Filipinos are already familiar with Text E-Games as another form of entertainment. Television shows increase viewership through text e-games.
A big chunk of advertising revenues also comes from texting and entertainment game promotions.
