Thunder from Down Under: Frustrated fan scorches Pacquiao, Arum, Koncz

Hi Michael: I am a Manny Pacquiao fan from Australia and have flown over to watch his last four fights (I even chatted to you briefly one time at the Manny’s open workout for the Margarito fight to tell you how much of a fan of yours I am) – I know its not your fault, however I thought I would email you my frustrations and my view on the negotiations in a couple dot points and maybe get your thoughts on the situation. – Todd DuBoef the voice of reason in boxing (most of the time) said today “if he (Floyd) wants to talk, he has my number”….”the problem is we don’t know who to negotiate with” 1. Floyd’s got his number and I’m sure Todd has his! So why not be the bigger man and call Floyd. 2. Who to negotiate with??? You can start by calling Al Haymon or Leonard Ellerbe and if they tell you Golden Boy are involved then call Richard! – Bob Arum’s argument. 1. Manny’s cut needs time to heal Manny was quoted as saying he was fine to fight in May. Plus the surgeon has not seen it since November so he needs to see it again and make that call, not Arum. 2. Money for a temporary stadium will gain an additional $20million for each fighter Each fighter is not going to bonus $20 million more – that is a ridiculous over statement. Surely Manny is better fighting now for $40million than Marquez/Bradley for $25million regardless of if he is not making an extra alleged $20mil It is ironic that the man ‘Money’ himself is not even worried about the extra money yet Manny is Surely 2 extra weeks is not enough of a time to make a difference in building the stadium 3. We can fight Mayweather in November, not May Floyd is not fighting again in 2012 – that is ridiculous for Arum to even say, Floyd fights only once a year anyway How will Arum negotiate, promote and build a stadium in 2 months – which is the time from when Floyd gets out of prison till the fight in November.
