Pound-for-Pound king Floyd Mayweather, Jr. sends his message addressed to Manny Pacquiao through his official tweeter page a few moments ago as he looks forward for his upcoming fight with unnamed opponent this May 5.
“Manny Pacquiao, I’m calling you out. Let’s fight May 5th and give the world what they want to see. My Jail Sentence was pushed back because the date was locked in.”
Mayweather, Jr. posted the same message on Facebook and is liked by 57,622 account holders. It also turns 11,632 visitors into frenzy with all unimaginable comments, as posted, in just about 24 minutes.
No doubt, Mayweather, Jr. has timely put the spotlight upon Top Rank Godfather Robert “Bob” Arum and Pacquaio who are scheduled to sit down together today in Manila. Initial report has it that Pacquiao rather wants Mayweather, Jr. as his opponent this Spring in the US.
Arum suggested through ANC television interview that if Mayweather, Jr. wants to fight Pacquiao, it should be in late May and at a bigger venue than MGM Grand Arena which only can squeeze in nearly 20,000 attendees. Arum would want to maximize live gate sales with potentially more than 60,000 ticket sales. A likely venue being targeted, if Las Vegas is chosen, would be the great stadium of the University of Las Vegas, Nevada in which Arum plans to build an extension to accommodate more fans.
