Ghost no more; Guerrero is looking for center stage against Mayweather

One of the characteristics of a true champion is self confidence and complete self belief in own ability. Such is the case with a multi divisional champion from Gilroy, California Robert ” The Ghost” Guerrero. Rumored to be in the running to face unbeaten super star, Floyd Mayweather, in case Pacquiao fight does not come to fruition in May, Guerrero, who has never fought above lightweight limit, believes that he can jump to welterweight and beat Mayweather.

” I am going to shock the world,” exclaimed Guerrero when asked about his chances against widely recognized as one of the best fighters of today, Floyd Mayweather.

Gurerro is out to prove that he belongs among the elite of sweet science and believes that there is no better way to do it than by beating Floyd Mayweather.

I visited rising star from Nothern California at the Summit training facility in Big Bear last summer. Robert was preparing for a much anticipated showdown with Marcos Maidana. Only a few weeks after my visit Guerrero injured his shoulder during sparring and had to pull out of the fight. Since then he underwent a shoulder surgery and believes that he is now stronger than ever and ready to mix it up with the best of the best. What struck me the most about a humble champion is supreme confidence in his ability inside the squared circle and his work ethic.
