There has never been a greater time to be a sports fan. From basketball to football, sports are abundant year round. 2011 was a year full of shocking moments and great plays. You had the Dallas Mavericks win their first NBA Championship. Their gutty performance against the Miami Heat showed that you can never count out an underdog. You had the Green Bay Packers completely dominate to win a championship under the helm of Aaron Rodgers. For unconventional sports, we saw Jon Jones have arguably one of the best championship runs in UFC history. He defeated tough opponents such as Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, Shogun Rua, and Lyoto Machida.
The year was full of action-packed moments and 2012 is shaping up to be even better. Here is a list of predictions that I think will come to fruition in 2012.
Miami Heat Will Claim a Championship
Last year the Miami Heat fell short in the championship against the resilient Dallas Mavericks. They struggled to get any real sizable offense going and suffered defeat. However, I think 2012 is their year because they have one of the most prolific offenses in the game. You have LeBron James, who is one of the best scorers today. You have Dwayne Wade, who is just as dangerous on defense as he is on offense. You have Chris Bosh, who is one of the most versatile centers to ever play the game. As long as they execute where it counts, the playoffs, then they should be able to finally capture gold this year.
