Once again I realize this is a Boxing site not a Legal site; but was there possibly another alternative or solution to Floyd’s sentence besides jail time. Is it possible that he could have received house arrest with community service providing some time to communicate/counsel with victims and defendants of domestic abuse or anger managment. Is there an attorney out there that can possibly file a motion to stay the execution of the sentence, vacate the sentence, retract the plea agreement or appeal for a new hearing.
Is it possible that his attorney could have been incompetant in some areas of the law. Remember when Paris Hilton had a drug case in Las Vegas, three weeks after her guilty plea; her prosecuting or district attorney was arrested for buying crack in the dope zone. She sure should have been able to retract her plea agreement. She was prosecuted by a “crack head”.
I realize California and Nevada are two seperate jurisdictions and no two cases are the same; but were there other options for Floyd Mayweather such as there was for Mel Gibson?
