With his January 20th date against WBA junior featherweight champion Rico Ramos nearing, interim champion Guillermo Rigondeaux is wrapping up his camp in Hollywood, Florida. For the past few months and through a few postponements of the fight, the two-time Cuban Gold Medalist has been prepping at the Heavyweight Factory under new coach Ismael Salas.
Ramos won his WBA title in July after icing Japan?s Akifumi Shimoda with a left hook after giving up an early lead through the first six rounds. He is a heavy underdog heading into the fight but his spirits are definitely high as he trains out of the Mayweather Boxing Club out in Las Vegas.
Ramos-Rigondeaux is a fight that has had its share of curiosity surrounding it and word recently leaked that the bout will be landing at the Pearl Theatre inside of the Palms Hotel and Casino. Word from Rigondeaux?s camp is that he will likely be eyeing a date with Nonito Donaire if successful against Ramos.
