8CN sat down with renowned boxing trainer Ronnie Shields and Jr middleweight contender Erislandy Lara. Shield and Lara give us a nice update on training camp as they prepare for the Febuary 11th fight Vs. Ronald Hearns. Lara is coming off of a brilliant performance Vs. Paul Williams, a fight that he clearly won but the due to some wretched judging, he was not given credit for it. Those judges have since been suspended from boxing, and rightfully so.
Shields goes in depth about facing Hearns and what Lara needs to do for the victory. They have to fight Hearns at a catch weight because nobody it seems wants to fight Lara at Jr middleweight (154lb). Lara tells 8CN in this Pod-cast that he would like to fight Saul Alvarez or a get a rematch with Paul Williams.
Shields also updates the fans on his newest fighter, Edwin Rodriguez. Ronnie also breaks down the rest of his stable including Mike Lee, who has a degree from Notre Dame University.
