PANDEMIC-LIKE “PACMAN FEVER” CONTINUES TO SPREAD!

“KING MANNY’ RETURNS HOME FOR LARIOS

Manila, RP-In this country of better 7,000 actual islands, there is something called “Pacman Fever” that is spreading like a pandemic. I’m sure there are even more thousands that have been infected by the mere fact their hero has returned home. If I said Manny was Babe Ruth, Bruce Lee, Elvis Presley, Muhammad Ali, President John Kennedy, and maybe the Mother Theresa of this country, it’d be a gross understatement.

TOP FIGURE IN PHILIPPINE REPUBLIC’S HISTORY!

Having established that he is the biggest figure in sports and action movies, “Pacman Fever” is a highly contagious condition that affects Filipinos in a different way. Some of his countrymen are so deep into Pacquiao, there’s an occult following. In other words, to some, Pacquiao can do more than walk on water. That being said, Pacman coverage in the Media, already a daily occurrence for most part anyway, took on a life of it’s own when his plane landed from Los Angeles Tuesday morning. Manny will now finish training for a July 2 (July 1 in USA) fight with Oscar Larios.

HBO APPROVED LARIOS A “REAL” THREAT

The icon born in General Santos City, RP, does battle in Araneta Coliseum against a former-champion in Oscar Larios. This is no “tune-up” type of get together. You see Larios at 56-4-1, with 34 KO’s is no joke. Originally, he was an “HBO” opponent for Manny. But political unrest persuaded Time Warner to not air the fight from Manila. Oscar will have an inch and a half height advantage over Manny Pacquiao, who is 41-3-2, with 33 KO’s.

PACQUIAO IN HOUR #2 OF “RING TALK RADIO”

With Pacquiao’s people (thanks Rob Peters) being kind enough to make him available for a radio interview Sunday, the Pacman talked about Larios, Erik Morales, and the pressure involved with being Manny Pacquiao. In hour one the guests were HBO’s Larry Merchant, Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero, and the Dramatics’ Ron Banks. Hour two featured Manny Pacquiao, and manager Frank Espinosa.
