Juan Manuel Marquez expressed his disgust over Top Rank CEO Bob Arum and laid down conditions for a fourth fight against nemesis Manny Pacquiao to be made.
In an interview on Mexican television, Marquez said that Arum told him “it’s business” during the post-fight press conference, stating that the 80-year-old Harvard Law grad and longtime boxing promoter acknowledged that he was screwed over a win against Pacquiao in their third fight.
“Even Bob Arum realized that when I got up at the press conference, he told me ‘it’s business’… I didn’t slap him, because he is already old. I’m a respectful person, but I got so pissed when he said ‘it’s business’,” Marquez narrated.
“I was like ‘oh yeah?’ Well let’s see now how your business goes, then he gets mad when it was him who said ‘it’s business’. It’s like yeah, you take care of your business, but who’s going to take care of me; my work; my 18-year career; my ambition of beating ‘the best pound-for-pound’ in boxing?” Marquez continued.
