WBO World Youth Flyweight Champion Froilan ?The Sniper? Saludar will face his originally named opponent, Nelson Llanos, for tonight's main event of the 70-round card at the Imus, Cavite covered court.
Saludar's manager-trainer, Joven H. Jimenez, reported earlier that Samuel Apuya would take Llanos' place when he was informed by the matchmaker that Llanos was injured in a motorcycle accident. When Jimenez learned later that Llanos' injury was only slight and would not render him unfit to proceed with the fight, Jimenez took pains and extra effort in successfully bringing Llanos, who is based in General Santos City, to Manila yesterday. Llanos met the weight requirement in last night's weigh in..
Jimenez adds that he is now finding it difficult to find local boxers who can give Saludar good tune up fights. In 2012, Saludar expects to already vie for a world boxing championship.
