Pacquiao sees no weight problem

FILIPINO superstar Manny Pacquiao anticipates no problem making the super featherweight limit with still close to three weeks left before he takes on Mexican star Oscar “Chololo” Larios on July 2 at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

Reports coming out of the Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles indicate that Pacquiao’s weight is now hovering at 134 lb, just four pounds above the super featherweight limit even if he has yet to go on a diet.

“My weight is good and my camp is really great and quiet,” said Pacquiao in an online interview with fans at website Boxingtalk.

Pacquiao, whose training camp has been closed to the public by American trainer Freddie Roach, said that when he is in shape, nobody can give him any trouble inside the ring, including Larios.

After Larios, the southpaw superstar said he would honor a commitment to fight Erik Morales in a rubber match, and then take care of Marco Antonio Barrera to decide once and for all who is the better fighter.

Barrera has been calling out Pacquiao lately in a bid to avenge his 11th round technical knockout loss to the Filipino in 2003.

Pacquiao, Roach and the other members of their team are expected to return to Manila Tuesday on a Philippine Airlines flight from Los Angeles.

Meanwhile, Ticketnet will start selling tickets for the Pacquiao-Larios bout today. Prices are pegged at P30,000 (patron), P20,000 (lower box), P7,500 upper box (A), and P2,500 (upper box B). Ticketnet outlets include SM Malls in Cubao, Marilao, Quiapo, Batangas, Makati, Valenzuela, Harrison and Molino
