Filipino-American Brian Viloria re-emerged as a fearsome little man following his dominant victory over former champion light flyweight Giovanni Segura Sunday morning.
Viloria was dominant throughout the fight unloading his powerful left hooks and combinations taking away the aggressiveness of Segura who was looking for an early knockout.
Viloria?s left hooks did the most damage as a big ugly lump on the right temple of Segura definitely caused the Mexican to lose his vision starting in the second round. Doctors later described the lump as caused by a broken orbital bone. It was an ugly lump that looked like another head growing out of Segura?s temple.
But what took the aggressiveness from the Mexican was a powerful Viloria shot to the body in the second round. Segura was never the same man after that.
Viloria?s win was so far his most impressive in a career spoiled by three losses.
It was even more dominant that his wins over former world light flyweight champions Ulises Solis and Eric Ortiz, from whom he wrestled their boxing crowns only to lose them to lesser known challengers.
