EVEN without giving out predictions about the outcome of their fight, protagonists Giovanni Segura of Mexico and Brian Viloria guarantee a classic affair in their title fight this weekend.
Viloria is set to stake his World Boxing Organization flyweight crown against Segura in a 12-round championship fight on Sunday at the Ynares Sports Center in Pasig City.
In a press conference Wednesday afternoon at the New World Hotel in Makati City, Viloria said all he knows is that he has prepared hard for this fight, while hoping Segura also did the same for them to dish out one memorable bout to cap the year.
?It all comes down to who works the hardest and put their best foot forward come fight night. Four, five or 12 rounds, it doesn?t matter. I just want to show a great fight,? said Viloria.
This will be the 31-year-old Viloria?s first title defense and his third reign as world champion, while Segura will eye his second division crown. Viloria won the belt when he decisioned Mexican Julio Cesar Miranda of Mexico last July in Hawaii.
Meanwhile, the former WBO and WBA lightflyweight champion Segura had his best moments in boxing when he knocked out twice Puerto Rican superstar Ivan Calderon.
