No truth to the rumor that Freddie Roach will move lock, stock and fight gym from Hollywood back to his native Massachusetts to vie for Congressman Barney Frank’s being vacated seat. But Mr. Roach did go to Washington, DC, where he is seen as pictured with his second most important clinet, junior welterweight champ Amir Khan. King Khan and his trainer posed in front of the US Capitol building where, last spring Manny Pacquiao paid a visit to his pal, Nevada Senator Harry Reid. Khan defends his two world title bouts Saturday night on HBO against local Lamont Peterson in a fight which expect will be hotly contested. Roach was at Saturday night’s Antonio Margarito-Miguel Cotto bout at Madison Square Garden, stopping off on his way to the nation’s capital. In an unrelated note, controversial Barney Frank once found himself in a Bayonne, NJ, High School detention class with a hulking guy named Chuck Wepner.
