BIBLE BELT, DOWN SOUTH ? BREAKING NEWS! Glenn Donaire the former NABA / WBO NABO flyweight champion will be back in the ring this coming Friday, Dec. 9, against Alex Sanchez of Ponce, Puerto Rico.

Glenn texted this writer that the fight will be in Kissimmee Civic Center, Kissimmee, Florida.

The fight will be for the interim WBC Latino flyweight title.

The 38 year old Puerto Rican has an impressive record of 31W-7L-1D with 21 knockouts. According to boxrec.com, Alex (orthodox) lost his last 3 fights going to Friday?s slugfest.

Both fighters come to this fight with long layoffs having each of them last fought in 2008. In his last fight, Sanchez lost to Nelson Dieppa via round 9 TKO while Glenn Donaire lost by unanimous decision against Ulises Solis.

Donaire informed that he knows about the fight last Friday Dec. 2. He added that he is a walking at 115 lbs, 3 lbs over to the 112 lbs limit. Donaire added that he will be 112 lbs this coming Friday. Him and his father-trainer, Nonito Donaire Sr., were training everyday before this opportunity came up. Glenn quit his day job and had been training for at least 4 months now at his cousin?s gym.

Sanchez challenged fellow Puerto Rican Ivan Calderon for WBO minimumweight and lost to a unanimous decision.
