Manny Pacquiao will soon leave his long hours and late nights at the pool table behind as business manager Rod Nazario wants the Ring Magazine featherweight champion to leave on the first available fliight for Los Angeles to begin intense training under the eagle eye of ?Trainer of the Year? Freddie Roach for his May 8 title fight, most probably against World Boxing Association and International Boxing Federation featherweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez.
However, Manila Standard learned that Nazario was having difficulty getting Pacquiao a business class ticket on Friday and may have to settle for a Monday flight with a decision likely to be made after he talks to the champion tonight. At 4:30 p.m.Tuesday Pacquiao was still playing in a pool tournament in Davao City before catching a flight to Manila in time for the scheduled presentation of the Ring Magazine belt by Editor-in-Chief Nigel Collins during a courtesy call on President Arroyo at 9:00 a.m. in Malacanang – the presidential palace – Wednesday.
