Promoter Bob Arum invited investors from Falcoln Hawk Entertainment, a group which includes 83 year old Joseph Jackson (father of the musical family), to his palatial home in Las Vegas last Monday to discuss the Mayweather-Pacquiao Super Bout. Arum confirmed to me on Friday afternoon that Falcoln Hawk, which also includes veteran music promoter Donny Rucker and which got entree to the Mayweather camp through Floyd’s uncles Jeff and Roger, is making a serious offer to land the so called Fight of the Century. But, Arum said, two others group will also make detailed, comprehensive offers and, from the Pacquiao side, the proposals will all be carefully vetted by Herb Allen’s powerhouse Wall Street investment banking concern, Allen & Company. Arum said the historic, astronomical millions of dollars involved call for such extreme, painstaking financial care. “You’re not talking about some $5 million fight here,” Arum said minutes before the Antonio Margarito-Miguel Cotto rematch weigh in at Madison Square Garden. “If it was another $5 million fight, we could do that, put that together, in our sleep. But it’s not.”
